Description

  • Support field investigations, assessments, and monitoring programs across interdisciplinary environmental, biological, and cultural projects.
  • Perform routine soil and ground/surface water sampling using standard industry methods.
  • Conduct field work, data collection and analysis, and prepare maps and diagrams for office-related tasks.
  • Document field activities, including safety tailgates, field logs, sample forms, GPS locations, chain of custody, and QA/QC records.
  • Operate and maintain field equipment such as vapor detectors, GPS units, water quality instruments, stream flow meters, and cameras.
  • Classify soil in accordance with ASTM guidelines.
  • Assist in preparing environmental, biological, and cultural reports based on field and desktop studies.
  • Participate in and oversee environmental drilling operations, including soil borings and monitoring well installation, development, and abandonment.
  • Support environmental compliance activities, including spill response plans, waste permitting and management, and compliance audits.
  • Participate in community outreach and other project-specific tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrology, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 1 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience with environmental data collection and documentation.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain military base passes and/or security clearance as required.
  • Ability to obtain OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification and/or current 8-hour refresher.
  • Ability to learn technical competencies for a variety of project types.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to learn technical software applications such as ArcGIS and Rockworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
