Description

  • Schedule inspections, coordinate repairs, and maintain vehicle maintenance records to support safety and compliance.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor equipment operators and field-based environmental specialists.
  • Ensure vehicles and drivers comply with provincial and federal regulations, including TDGA, Hours of Service, Licensing, and Registration.
  • Collaborate with customer service to handle requests and create the daily service schedule.
  • Optimize routes, monitor fuel usage, track vehicle locations, and manage scheduling to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor fuel, maintenance, repairs, and other operating expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Consult with management on equipment replacement cycles and technology adoption to improve efficiency.
  • Handle documentation, reporting, and coordination with vendors, department leaders, and upper management.
  • Drive a commercial truck when required.

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of truck driving experience.
  • 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Intermediate Microsoft 365 experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in the hazardous waste industry (preferred).
  • Post-secondary chemistry background and 5 years of application as a chemical technician/environmental specialist in the hazardous waste industry (preferred).
  • Experience with Samsara and fleet management software (preferred).
  • Active commercial driver’s license (preferred).
