Description

  • Lead implementation of the Arelion Optical Transport Network and help deliver capacity within agreed lead times.
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, testing, and service turn-up of optical transmission equipment.
  • Perform DWDM link migrations in coordination with onsite technicians, including out-of-hours work when required.
  • Execute migrations of services from end-of-life transmission platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on network expansion, optimization, and decommissioning of legacy equipment.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to support delivery, installation, and commissioning of DWDM systems.
  • Provide logistics coordination for equipment shipments between warehouses and deployment sites.
  • Maintain accurate documentation across relevant systems, tools, and network inventory records.
  • Participate in deployment and progress meetings with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Support remote installation and troubleshooting activities with onsite technicians.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a telecommunications company covering Plan, Build, and Operate functions.
  • Proven experience as a DWDM Network Engineer in a telecommunications environment.
  • Extensive configuration and troubleshooting experience with Infinera 7300, Infinera FlexILS, Nokia GX, Ciena 6500, and Ciena 6500 RLS for long-haul optical line systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Infinera Groove G30, Nokia GX, and Ciena ELS for metro optical line systems.
  • Experience with Ciena WL5e and WL6e, and Nokia CHM6 and CHM7 transponder platforms in C-band and L-band variants.
  • Experience supporting remote installation of transponders and shelves with onsite technicians.
  • Good understanding of fibre infrastructure, including cable routing and ODF connectivity in data centre environments.
  • Proven capability to commission and turn up DWDM services.
  • Experience supporting spectrum migration activities.
  • Strong documentation skills, including maintaining network inventory systems.
  • Ability to clearly communicate project status and progress to internal stakeholders.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current transmission technologies and industry best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to take ownership and deliver independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective team player with leadership capability when required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to service quality and delivery.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort with administrative and repetitive tasks requiring high accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively across international and cross-functional teams.
  • Post-secondary education or a university degree is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Vendor certifications from Nokia, Infinera, and/or Ciena are advantageous.
