Description

  • Bookkeep for multiple public and private clients across various industries in Canada and the U.S.
  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank transactions, reconciliations, GST filings, and journal entries.
  • Maintain organized electronic records of invoices and statements.
  • Handle foreign exchange transactions.
  • Assist with preparing documents for client audits.
  • Prepare working papers for financial statement line items.
  • Support various projects and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Work with accounting professionals and contribute to client-facing accounting work over the co-op term.

Requirements

  • In progress toward a bachelor’s degree or diploma specializing in accounting.
  • Current enrollment in a recognized co-op program is required.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word for document formatting.
  • Comfortable working in Excel.
  • Able to work under deadline pressure.
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous.
  • Interested in challenging work and continuous learning in a supportive environment.
  • Embraces new technology.
  • Interested in pursuing a CPA designation.
  • Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred.
  • Customer service or client service experience is preferred.
  • Exposure to accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage 50 is preferred.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee protection claimant eligible under the SWPP program.
