Description

  • Lead and grow multiple cross-functional Product Engineering teams across Marketplace and Payments.
  • Co-own outcomes with the Head of Product and set clear, outcome-focused goals.
  • Support teams in exploring problems, shaping pragmatic solutions, slicing work thinly, and making timely decisions.
  • Set technical direction for the areas with architects and engineers, and scale engineering practices through guilds.
  • Raise the bar for reliability, maintainability, performance, and security across teams.
  • Drive consistency between Marketplace and Payments and alignment with other parts of Treatwell through shared principles and guardrails.
  • Coach and develop engineering managers and senior individual contributors, including succession planning and talent development.
  • Own hiring, staffing, and team planning to ensure the right skills are in place as the area evolves.
  • Remove organisational and technical barriers, reduce toil, and improve developer experience and delivery.
  • Partner with Platform and other business functions to shape priorities, surface trade-offs early, and solve shared problems.

Requirements

  • Experience as a leader of leaders, guiding multiple teams and coaching engineering managers and team leads.
  • Strong ability to align priorities, communicate trade-offs clearly, and navigate complex cross-company contexts.
  • Experience balancing execution, strategy, and people leadership in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to shape technical direction at a high level to improve scalability, reliability, and developer experience.
  • Experience bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders and building trust-based relationships across an organisation.
  • Strategic mindset with a pragmatic approach and the ability to help teams scale beyond direct involvement.
  • Fluent English speaker.
  • Any other European language is a plus.
  • Based in the UK, Spain, or Italy, with the right to work in one of those locations.
