Description

  • Take complex developer tooling and delivery initiatives from concept through production, often independently.
  • Design build, test, and deployment systems and document decisions through architecture proposals or RFCs.
  • Own CI/CD pipelines, including migrating from Jenkins to GitHub Actions, improving performance, caching, automation, and rollback procedures.
  • Develop standardized developer environments, CLIs, scripts, and internal tooling.
  • Embed with engineering teams to identify and resolve workflow friction directly.
  • Build AI-enabled workflows for code review, testing, refactoring, and internal search with appropriate security controls.
  • Lead incident response and post-mortems for the delivery toolchain.
  • Measure improvements in build time, deployment frequency, test reliability, and developer onboarding speed.
  • Plan cross-team rollouts, migrations, documentation, and operational runbooks.
  • Mentor engineers on tooling, testing, and delivery practices through reviews, pairing, and design feedback.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree, including hands-on developer experience, CI/CD, release engineering, platform automation, or developer tooling work.
  • Experience shipping application software and helping product teams improve speed and quality.
  • Strong command of Node, Python, Kotlin, or a comparable production language, including automation and test code.
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitHub or Bitbucket, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
  • Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes-based deployments, including EKS troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated success improving pipeline or test-suite speed and reliability through caching and flake reduction.
  • Experience with modern testing tools, API testing, and contract testing.
  • Experience leading cross-team technical designs, migrations, or deprecations.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as Claude and applying sound judgment around security, data handling, and verification.
  • Strong written communication, documentation, collaboration, and service-oriented engineering skills.
