Description

  • Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs in Python and Django.
  • Model and evolve relational data, write migrations, and keep the data layer clean.
  • Extend a cross-platform desktop application built in Python.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, webhooks, and OAuth or service-account authentication flows.
  • Handle authentication, sensitive data encryption, and secret management carefully.
  • Own the full delivery lifecycle, including tests, containerized builds, CI/CD, and deployments.
  • Write clean, tested code and review teammates' work.
  • Work across the stack to ship features from backend API to the consuming client.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional Python experience with production Django or a comparable web framework.
  • Solid relational database experience, including modeling, querying, and migrations.
  • Comfort with Docker and modern CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs, webhooks, and authentication flows.
  • Strong understanding of authentication and security fundamentals, including tokens, encryption, and secret management.
  • Strong testing habits and confidence collaborating with Git.
  • Bonus: experience building or packaging desktop applications.
  • Bonus: experience with async task queues such as Celery and Redis.
  • Bonus: cloud infrastructure experience with AWS or similar, plus networking basics.
  • Bonus: track record of working effectively on small, autonomous teams.
