Description

  • Manage accurate and timely payroll processing for assigned client entities across multiple payroll platforms, pay frequencies, and state jurisdictions.
  • Obtain and track documented client approvals before each payroll submission and escalate missing or late approvals as needed.
  • Review payroll registers and exception reports for accuracy.
  • Coordinate and monitor payroll tax filings and notices across local, state, county, and municipal jurisdictions.
  • Maintain payroll systems, including new hire setup, tax form processing, local tax setup, timekeeping input, termination processing, and garnishment processing.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations, including payroll to GL and tax filings.
  • Track and reconcile benefit deductions, employer contributions, and benefits invoices.
  • Coordinate with brokers and providers on payroll-related benefit items.
  • Coordinate W-2 processing, year-end reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
  • Support retirement plan administration, workers’ compensation audits, classification tracking, and other compliance reporting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of payroll experience.
  • Experience with multi-state and multi-entity payroll processing.
  • Proficiency with at least two payroll platforms, such as ADP, Paycom, or QBO.
  • Strong understanding of payroll best practices, including reconciliation, audit procedures, and quality assurance.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management.
  • Experience developing and documenting payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive payroll matters with discretion.
  • Experience managing complex multi-jurisdictional payroll calculations and system transitions (preferred).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
