Description

  • Research and implement networking strategies for the VFX CG Visualization Team.
  • Partner with VFX and Corporate Technology teams to define and maintain infrastructure architecture.
  • Configure and validate AWS Deadline Cloud, including queues and render nodes.
  • Test Maya/Arnold scene submission, rendering, and output across show environments.
  • Build an internal 3D asset and scene transfer system between desktops and virtual machines.
  • Optimize network and remote-workstation configurations for low-latency OpenGL-based DCC applications.
  • Develop Linux shell-based application launchers and per-show render-farm environment configurations.
  • Troubleshoot stuck frames, failed, and crashing render jobs.
  • Develop scalable per-show environment-loader systems separating machine-level and show-level configuration.
  • Document systems, architecture, workflows, and operating procedures.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Linux, macOS, and Windows systems administration experience, including networking and scripting.
  • Extensive experience configuring networks and render farms for VFX pipelines.
  • Strong Python and Bash skills, including Maya userSetup.py scripts and MEL/Python callbacks.
  • Engineering-level knowledge of Maya, Arnold, Mudbox, Unreal, Nuke, ShotGrid, SyncSketch, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience with enterprise workstations, render farms, storage systems, cloud computing, servers, and virtual machines.
  • Strong understanding of NFS, NAS storage clusters, CG asset file systems, and data-transfer performance.
  • Experience with Arnold/MtoA and CPU/GPU rendering workflows; AWS Deadline experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HP Z Remote, HP Anyware, Teradici, or similar remote-work solutions.
  • Knowledge of DCC application architecture and Qt/PySide toolkits.
  • Experience with per-show pipeline environments, Git-based version control, and Windows artist workstations.
  • Experience optimizing VFX asset and render pipelines for VFX and CG Supervisors.
  • Preferred: Entra ID/Intune, artist-facing DCC tools or plugins, ACES/OCIO, media encoding tools, Docker, or AWS.
