Description

  • Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for Solid Rocket Motor production equipment.
  • Architect, write, and debug Siemens PLC code for high-volume manufacturing applications.
  • Create organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable control code.
  • Generate and enforce internal standards for control system architecture, regulatory compliance, and safety buyoffs.
  • Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures.
  • Install, configure, and tune servo drives and VFDs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and reduce downtime.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across automation and production systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment.
  • Strong Siemens PLC programming experience, including Ladder and Structured Text.
  • Proficiency in servo drive and VFD configuration, PID tuning, and STO/SS.
  • Strong knowledge of Ethernet-based communication protocols, including ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, and Ethernet/IP.
  • Proficiency in electrical component selection, wire sizing, circuit protection, and heat management in control cabinets.
  • Experience integrating with SCADA and OT networking.
  • Experience performing risk assessments and controls safety design.
  • Proficiency with pneumatic concepts and design.
  • Familiarity with NFPA70e electrical safety practices.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
  • Preferred: 10+ years of controls and automation experience in a production environment.
  • Preferred: Experience working in an energetics facility.
  • Preferred: Experience with control panel layout, electrical component selection, and cable routing.
  • Preferred: Electrical troubleshooting up to 600VAC.
  • Preferred: TUV FS Engineer certification (Functional Safety of Machinery).
