Description

  • Design digital ASICs and/or FPGAs for Starshield projects.
  • Evaluate architectural trade-offs and derive subsystem and circuit specifications based on performance and system constraints.
  • Define micro-architectures and implement RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Integrate designs at the top level and deliver verified, synthesis- and timing-clean implementations.
  • Work closely with the verification team to ensure complete design coverage and validation.
  • Provide timing constraints and support physical implementation tasks such as synthesis, timing closure, and formality checks.
  • Participate in silicon bring-up and validation.
  • Assist in developing automated test lab equipment for lab measurements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
  • Graduating with a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in 2026 or 2027.
  • 1+ years of experience in RTL implementation and/or FPGA/ASIC development.
  • Experience solving issues such as clock domain crossings and power optimization (preferred).
  • Experience developing complex ASICs (preferred).
  • Experience with multicore CPU subsystem design (preferred).
  • Experience with standard bus protocols such as AXI and AHB (preferred).
  • Experience with embedded processors (preferred).
  • Experience with high-speed and low-power design techniques (preferred).
  • Scripting skills in Python, TCL, or similar languages (preferred).
  • Experience with EDA tools such as HDL simulators, HDL lint tools, and FPGA tools like Vivado or Quartus (preferred).
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements (preferred).
  • Team-player mindset with the ability to contribute both collaboratively and independently (preferred).
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed to meet critical milestones.
  • Willingness to travel for off-site testing.
  • Active TS-SCI clearance may provide an opportunity to work on sensitive SpaceX missions.
  • Must be eligible under ITAR requirements as a U.S. citizen/national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise authorized by the U.S. Department of State.
