Description

  • Lead and provide technical mentorship and direction to a small team of software engineers.
  • Manage the team’s development process, including scoping and defining ambiguous work.
  • Design, build, test, and maintain scalable, reusable software components and features.
  • Develop APIs and web applications that efficiently handle complex data.
  • Review pull requests for security, stability, performance, and readability.
  • Drive decomposition of monolithic applications into modern microservices.
  • Contribute to architecture, database, and API decisions.
  • Partner with product managers to define, scope, and plan new features.
  • Collaborate with QA to deliver cohesive, high-quality, usable solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, participate in agile development, and produce technical documentation.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience providing technical direction to engineers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Strong foundation in computer science and software architecture.
  • Substantial experience with React.js, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
  • Substantial web development experience in Java, C#, or Python.
  • Substantial SQL experience; NoSQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Node.js and microservices (highly preferred).
  • Experience deploying containerized applications with Docker, large-scale data systems, message queues such as RabbitMQ, and AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, Elasticsearch, and Kinesis.
  • Experience delivering and supporting production products through the full development lifecycle; IoT experience is a plus.
