Description

  • Ensure Tenable cloud products are reliable and highly available in cloud environments.
  • Respond to support escalations by troubleshooting complex technical issues and resolving data and configuration problems within service level objectives.
  • Develop software, tools, and scripts to automate deployment, management, and monitoring of production systems.
  • Collaborate with peers on complex projects and with cloud engineers on new cloud technologies and operational impacts.
  • Work in the software development lifecycle to define enhancements and bugs, write functional requirements, and translate them into solution designs and production deployments.
  • Proactively identify efficiencies in operational tools and technology used to support customers.
  • Create and maintain documentation for operational procedures.
  • Contribute to standardization efforts across disciplines and services with embedded SRE teams.
  • Document and perform system upgrades, application updates, and monitoring requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and support 24x7 production availability.
  • Remediate infrastructure and container security vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • 2+ years of related SRE experience.
  • Current residence in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA with the ability to work remotely.
  • Apply core software engineering fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and system design to reliability and scalability challenges.
  • Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code technologies.
  • 2+ years of public cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) preferred, including managed AWS services such as EKS, OpenSearch, MSK, and Batch.
  • Experience with orchestration tooling such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Docker or a similar container solution.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Agile software development and collaboration to deliver software and configuration artifacts.
  • Experience with bash scripting and higher-level scripting languages such as Python or Node.js.
  • Experience contributing to projects through completion as part of a team.
  • Experience deploying and managing distributed, microservice-oriented applications at scale.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in written, verbal, and virtual settings.
  • High personal integrity, strong confidentiality, self-motivation, logic, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with FedRAMP-compliant platform development and related government standards (preferred).
  • Experience with distributed monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or OTEL (preferred).
  • Experience with datastore technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, and RDS Aurora PostgreSQL (preferred).
  • Experience with Helm (preferred).
  • Experience with Go, Java/Kotlin, and/or Groovy (preferred).
  • Experience with Java build tools including Gradle (preferred).
  • 1+ years of operational experience with industry-leading big data services technologies (preferred).

  • Base pay range of $131,500 to $175,500 USD.
