Description

  • Partner with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle to qualify opportunities, run technical evaluations, and expand production usage with existing customers.
  • Lead technical conversations with developers, architects, and engineering leaders to understand customer systems, constraints, and business goals.
  • Build tailored demos and proof-of-concepts that show how Temporal solves customer problems, including AI and agentic workload orchestration.
  • Deliver enablement sessions that help customer engineering teams adopt Temporal effectively.
  • Create reusable technical assets that help accelerate deals and scale the team’s impact.
  • Educate Account Executives on Temporal fundamentals, common patterns, and opportunity qualification.
  • Manage multiple prospects and customers at the same time while prioritizing urgent and strategic work.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Developer Success to share field insights that influence the roadmap.

Requirements

  • Must reside in San Francisco, CA.
  • Strong development background with hands-on coding experience in at least one modern language: Go, Java, TypeScript, or Python.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, including reliability, observability, and fault tolerance.
  • Proven experience in a pre-sales, customer-facing engineering, or solutions architecture role working with technical buyers.
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills in high-volume environments.
  • Enthusiasm for AI/ML technologies and emerging use cases in agentic workflows and LLM orchestration.
  • Strong technical communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences, including senior engineers.
  • Comfort creating structure in ambiguous or undefined situations.
  • Experience with workflow engines, event-driven architectures, or orchestration technologies such as Temporal, Cadence, or similar (preferred).
  • Background articulating the value of commercial SaaS offerings that compete with open source alternatives such as Redis, Kafka, or Databricks (preferred).
  • Contributions to developer tooling, open source projects, or technical content (preferred).
  • Certifications from major cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, or foundational AI model providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google (preferred).

  • Estimated OTE of $200,000 - $250,000.
  • Base-salary plus variable compensation with a 70/30 split.
  • Eligibility to participate in Temporal’s equity plan.
