Description

  • Install, configure, administer, patch, upgrade, and manage the lifecycle of Oracle database environments.
  • Monitor database performance, availability, and health, and resolve bottlenecks and operational issues.
  • Tune databases through indexing, query optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Implement and maintain database security controls, including access management, encryption, auditing, and DoD compliance.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to meet RPO and RTO requirements.
  • Design and maintain database schema changes using version-controlled migration scripts integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automate database deployment scripts so they are repeatable, defect-free, and environment agnostic.
  • Maintain configuration management documentation and version control for database settings.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to design efficient database structures and support modernization efforts.
  • Support ETL processes, data integration activities, metadata maintenance, and troubleshooting of production database issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of Oracle Database Administration experience supporting enterprise environments.
  • Extensive experience installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and administering Oracle databases.
  • Experience developing and managing version-controlled database migration scripts integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning, optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience implementing database security hardening, encryption, auditing, and STIG compliance.
  • Experience designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining enterprise backup and recovery strategies.
  • Experience supporting Oracle databases hosted in cloud environments, including AWS.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes, database integration, and data dictionary documentation.
  • Experience working within Agile software development and DevSecOps environments.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Air Force or other Department of Defense software programs (preferred).
  • Experience with AWS database services and cloud-native database architectures (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated database deployments (preferred).
  • Experience supporting high-availability and disaster recovery database architectures (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Git, GitLab CI/CD, and automated deployment pipelines (preferred).
  • Experience with database monitoring and performance management tools (preferred).
  • Familiarity with RMF accreditation processes and DoD cybersecurity policies (preferred).
