Description

  • Lead and execute financial due diligence reviews for potential acquisitions of small businesses.
  • Develop pro forma financial models, including income statements, balance sheets, free cash flow, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Analyze financial statements, historical performance, and accounting processes to evaluate each opportunity.
  • Perform quality-of-revenue and quality-of-earnings analysis and develop working capital metrics.
  • Work with legal, tax, and operations teams to gather information and support a holistic diligence process.
  • Communicate findings, guidance, and key insights to team members throughout the diligence process.
  • Prepare detailed reports and workbooks outlining key findings, risks, and opportunities.
  • Present diligence findings to the investment team in a clear and concise manner.
  • Assist in preparing indications of interest, LOIs, and technical input to purchase agreements.
  • Review peers’ work for accuracy and quality and help improve diligence efficiency through technology collaboration.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting and buy-side transaction experience in an accounting advisory, private equity, or broad transaction advisory setting.
  • Exposure to both financial and tax reporting accounting.
  • CPA, CA, or CFA certification preferred.
  • Mid-market accounting firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability in evaluating small to medium-sized businesses.
  • Strong interest in and passion for employee ownership in small businesses.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter mentality with the ability to work in both team-based and self-directed environments.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other presentation tools.
