Description

  • Run fortnightly payroll and maintain employee records in Xero.
  • Manage leave balances and provide leave reporting to leadership.
  • Process accounts payable, including fortnightly payment runs and supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Support accounts receivable activities, including weekly debtor management and monthly client statements.
  • Complete ANZ bank account reconciliations and AMEX card reconciliations.
  • Process superannuation on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with the external accounting firm on bi-monthly reporting and BAS preparation.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in Xero and ensure timely, compliant bookkeeping across multiple entities.
  • Advise on supplier payment schedules and support smooth financial operations.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in a Bookkeeping or Accounts role, ideally in a small to medium-sized business or agency environment managing multiple entities.
  • Proven end-to-end payroll experience, including leave management and superannuation.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll compliance and Fair Work requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Xero is essential, including payroll, bank feeds, reporting, and employee record management.
  • Solid experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable, including payment runs, supplier reconciliations, debtor management, and client billing.
  • Strong experience with bank and credit card reconciliations, including high-volume AMEX transactions, with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of BAS preparation requirements and experience liaising with external accountants for lodgements and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of GST, superannuation obligations, and general Australian accounting compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage deadlines, and prioritise across multiple business entities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with leadership, suppliers, and external accountants.
  • Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance is preferred; Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting is preferred, and BAS Agent registration is highly regarded but not essential.
