Description

  • Develop and execute growth strategies aligned to aerospace and defense OEM priorities and mission needs.
  • Lead early-stage opportunity shaping, including customer engagement, requirements influence, and competitive positioning.
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline of scalable product delivery and manufacturing opportunities.
  • Develop win strategies and lead capture efforts for strategic pursuits, including teaming, pricing, and risk management.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with senior government stakeholders, program offices, OEM buyers, primes, and partners.
  • Oversee the development of white papers, proposals, technical volumes, and technical demonstrations.
  • Align product development roadmaps and manufacturing capabilities with customer demand signals and lifecycle requirements.
  • Structure strategic partnerships and lead teaming negotiations, including exclusivity and IP considerations.
  • Own pipeline development, bookings targets, revenue growth, and B&P investment tracking.
  • Mentor junior growth professionals and support integration across BD, capture, technical, and delivery teams.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 16+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 14+ years of experience in business development, capture, or growth within aerospace and defense.
  • Recognized industry specialist with extensive technical expertise across multiple disciplines.
  • Proven track record of identifying and leading successful business development and capture efforts in the government marketplace.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills with experience driving long-range business initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to engage government officials and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in winning and shaping complex DoD opportunities.
  • Experience with product-based or manufacturing-focused solutions in defense or national security markets.
  • Strong understanding of non-traditional acquisition pathways such as OTA and CSO.
  • Experience translating drawings and TDPs into a consolidated BOM.
  • Preferred: Major government contract capture experience and large-scale pursuit leadership.
  • Preferred: Deep understanding of federal acquisition regulations, procurement processes, and contracting vehicles.
  • Preferred: APMP or PMP certification.
  • Preferred: Experience with project estimation, build-to-print job shop quotes, avionics integration, or integrated digital ecosystems.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with DoD modernization priorities, including aircraft field install teams, Aviation Products, and hypersonics.
  • Preferred: Experience working with consortia such as SOSSEC or NSTXL and CRADA frameworks.
