Description

  • Translate client business requirements into scalable data and analytics solutions.
  • Assess current data environments, define target architectures, and develop phased modernization roadmaps.
  • Select architecture patterns, explain trade-offs, and conduct architecture reviews and assessments.
  • Design end-to-end Microsoft Fabric solutions spanning OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, integration, modeling, semantic models, and reporting.
  • Design batch, incremental, change-data-capture, and streaming integrations from ERP, CRM, SaaS, API, file, and other sources.
  • Lead migrations from SQL Server, SSIS/SSAS, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI Premium to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Define semantic-layer and reporting standards and guide report developers.
  • Monitor and optimize Fabric capacity, performance, and consumption costs.
  • Establish data governance, quality, lineage, metadata, security, privacy, and compliance practices.
  • Provide technical leadership to delivery teams and support proposals through solution approaches, estimates, SOW inputs, and client presentations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional data and analytics experience, including 3+ years in an architect role.
  • Architecture experience on at least two production Microsoft Fabric implementations.
  • Experience delivering at least one full-lifecycle greenfield architecture engagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in data modeling, warehousing, lakehouse and medallion architecture, ETL/ELT, orchestration, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience with OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Eventhouse, Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Spark, Direct Lake, DAX, capacities, security, governance, Git, and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, SQL Server, Azure DevOps or GitHub, and Agile/Scrum delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, quality, metadata, lineage, master data, security, and compliance.
  • Clear communication, business acumen, and experience leading requirements, design, and brainstorming sessions with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Remote availability from Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, South Dakota, North Carolina, Arizona, or Arkansas, with travel 4–6 times annually and no more than 24 days away per year.
  • Microsoft Fabric or Azure architecture certifications preferred; Databricks, Snowflake, pre-sales, AI/ML, Copilot in Fabric, and Real-Time Intelligence experience are advantageous.
