Description

  • Reverse engineer Alteryx workflows, SSIS packages, and SQL Server jobs to identify behavior, dependencies, fixes, and implicit business logic.
  • Validate automated analysis against original source artifacts and resolve discrepancies or unsupported assumptions.
  • Define target lakehouse architecture, ingestion patterns, data types, partitioning, naming conventions, and scalability standards.
  • Establish data modeling, lineage, access, governance, and Unity Catalog security practices.
  • Review and approve documented implementation plans before automated code generation.
  • Resolve technical escalations, business ambiguities, and exceptions requiring human judgment.
  • Provide technical direction and unblock up to three engineers or developers simultaneously.
  • Review and approve pull requests targeting protected branches such as preprod and main.
  • Document assumptions, alternatives, trade-offs, and approvals for auditability and decision traceability.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience in data engineering and data architecture with ownership of cloud architecture decisions.
  • Experience modernizing legacy ETL workloads into lakehouse architectures.
  • Production experience with Apache Spark and PySpark.
  • Strong knowledge of Delta Lake, Medallion architecture, lakehouse patterns, and data warehousing.
  • Experience with Azure cloud data platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSIS.
  • Experience with data modeling, governance, and lineage.
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, and pull request reviews.
  • Technical leadership experience with engineers or developers; formal people management is not required.
  • Ability to make decisions with incomplete information, validate assumptions, and document technical reasoning.
  • Strong communication skills and English proficiency for technical discussions and documentation.
  • Databricks, Unity Catalog, Alteryx, Solace, Kafka, Lakeflow, DevOps, SAST, vulnerability management, or AI-assisted engineering experience preferred.
