Description

  • Design and build backend features that support Sysdig's scale-out effort and handle growing customer demand and data volume.
  • Develop scalable APIs and services for runtime threat detection, policy enforcement, and alerting.
  • Evolve the service architecture for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Product, Threat Research, Frontend, Design, and customer-facing teams to deliver impactful features.
  • Handle real-time and historical security data across multi-cloud environments, including Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, and IBM Cloud.
  • Participate in code reviews and design sessions.
  • Provide operational support for the services owned by the team.
  • Contribute to observability by supporting logging and metrics practices for distributed systems.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, systems design, and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience designing and building scalable backend services, including APIs and data processing pipelines.
  • Production experience with Go, Java, or C++.
  • Experience with containerized workloads and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Experience with logging best practices and emitting useful metrics for observability and troubleshooting.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve personal and team productivity.
  • Experience building or operating security products is a plus.
  • Familiarity with languages such as Go, Python, or Java is preferred.
  • Experience with datastores such as Elasticsearch or QuickWit, Redis, and Postgres/SQL is preferred.
  • Experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as NATS/JetStream or Kafka is preferred.
  • Experience with infrastructure tools such as Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, Harness, or Jenkins is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or IBM Cloud is preferred.
