Description

  • Partner with the Product Manager, Designer, and Engineers to define solutions, set milestones and goals, and deliver products to market.
  • Facilitate technical discovery and translate rapid learning into product designs.
  • Guide engineers through planning and technical decisions as product direction solidifies.
  • Balance technical excellence with rapid delivery as products scale.
  • Manage and support team members in a growth-oriented, inclusive, and outcome-focused environment.
  • Balance investment between sustaining existing products and delivering new capabilities.
  • Collaborate with partner product teams on cross-team solutions that integrate with mobile, embedded, and backend systems.
  • Communicate progress, learnings, and blockers to keep teams aligned.
  • Create an environment where direct reports are satisfied, engaged, and retained.
  • Stay informed on AI tooling and identify opportunities to improve team efficiency.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in engineering leadership and people management.
  • Track record of developing engineers and building high-performing teams.
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end products in cloud-based SaaS environments.
  • Broad experience across the stack, including frontend, backend, and data.
  • Experience with AWS, JavaScript/Vue.js, Postgres, or Java is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with real-time data systems such as WebSockets, pub/sub architectures, or streaming data pipelines.
  • Experience with map-based or geospatial web applications such as MapLibre, Mapbox, or Leaflet is a strong plus.
  • Comfort applying modern AI tools and techniques in the software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to clarify goals, break down work effectively, and manage competing priorities across multiple product surfaces.
  • A growth mindset, openness to feedback, and comfort engaging in technical debates with humility.
  • Interest in mission-driven work related to public transit, mobility, or sustainability.
  • No visa sponsorship available; candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. or Canada for this role.

  • Competitive salary within a published range of $160,000–$225,000 USD in the U.S. or $175,000–$220,000 CAD in Canada.
