Description

  • Develop, review, and debug code running at the edge to improve caching, localization, and device performance.
  • Monitor client implementations and rapidly identify and resolve technical anomalies.
  • Use browser DevTools, diagnostic tools, and internal APIs to diagnose latency and personalization issues in live production environments.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned merchant accounts and manage engineering issue resolution.
  • Work closely with merchant teams to integrate and optimize solutions across Shopify, SFCC, and custom storefront environments.
  • Write and refine transform scripts and configure caching rules for client deployments.
  • Document onboarding, support, tooling, and process improvements to make implementation more efficient.
  • Provide product feedback based on field experience to inform feature enhancements and roadmap decisions.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a technical or customer-facing engineering role such as solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, or full stack development.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and familiarity with browser-based debugging.
  • Working knowledge of web fundamentals including HTTP, caching headers, CDNs, DNS, and rendering performance.
  • Experience with Shopify, including Liquid, Hydrogen, or headless builds, is preferred.
  • Experience with SFCC or other enterprise commerce platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to manage issues in live production environments with composure and a clear problem-solving methodology.
  • Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with edge computing platforms such as Cloudflare Workers or similar is preferred.
  • Understanding of web experimentation and A/B testing frameworks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ecommerce optimization metrics such as Core Web Vitals, LCP, and TTFB is preferred.
  • Collaborative experience working within GitHub-managed engineering workflows is preferred.
