Description

  • Define and execute a multi-year engineering and architecture strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Guide system design and architectural decisions to improve scalability, performance, and resilience.
  • Oversee Site Reliability Engineering to support operational excellence and system uptime.
  • Manage and develop Engineering Managers and senior technical leaders.
  • Set expectations, coach leaders, and build a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Strengthen the leadership bench through mentorship, succession planning, and hiring.
  • Ensure consistent delivery across multiple teams and large-scale initiatives.
  • Establish and track engineering metrics to improve performance, quality, and team health.
  • Own resource planning and align budgets to strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with Product, Operations, and business leaders to prioritize work and deliver impact.
  • Align engineering efforts with customer needs and business outcomes.
  • Lead hiring efforts for Engineering Managers and senior engineers.
  • Develop and maintain a talent pipeline to support continued growth.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, including 10+ years leading teams and managing managers.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and align multiple teams around shared goals.
  • Experience designing and delivering complex, scalable systems in cloud environments.
  • Strong foundation in system design, architecture, and modern engineering best practices.
  • Technical depth in backend technologies including Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
  • Technical depth in databases including MySQL, Oracle, and Redis.
  • Technical depth in frontend technologies including JavaScript, React, TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
  • Experience with Flutter or native iOS/Android mobile development.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude to improve engineering productivity.
  • High-level proficiency in written and verbal communication in English.
  • Experience leading or partnering closely with Site Reliability Engineering teams (preferred).
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps and infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Linux/Unix, Nginx, Apache, and the ELK stack (preferred).
  • Background in e-commerce, supply chain, or other high-transaction environments (preferred).
  • Master’s or advanced degree in a technical or business field (preferred).
  • Ability to work full-time, remotely from India, on a Monday–Friday schedule aligned to U.S. Eastern Time / Indian Standard Time.
  • Ability to work in a distraction-free remote environment.
