Description

  • Partner with Account Executives to understand customer challenges and communicate Sumo Logic’s value proposition, vision, and strategy.
  • Technically close complex opportunities through competitive knowledge, technical expertise, and customer credibility.
  • Coordinate sales-cycle activities and lead technical validations during Proof of Value engagements.
  • Work with executives, developers, Site Reliability Engineers, and other stakeholders across customer organizations.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations of the Sumo Logic service.
  • Design solutions aligned with customer requirements and business needs.
  • Build trusted customer relationships by guiding trials and Proof of Value engagements.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to improve the Sumo Logic service based on customer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, solutions architecture, sales engineering, implementation consulting, support engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or software development involving customer-facing project leadership.
  • Hands-on knowledge of security technologies including IDS/IPS, SIEM and log management, network or endpoint security, threat detection, incident response, MSSP/MDR, threat feeds, and CASB.
  • Experience with pure SaaS solutions and multi-tenant architectures.
  • Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure; cloud certification is preferred.
  • Broad understanding of technical infrastructure, including servers, networking devices, and storage.
  • Experience with modern application architectures, including microservices, containers, Kubernetes, Docker, or Lambda is preferred.
  • Experience with open-source collection tools such as Telegraf, Fluent Bit, FluentD, or OpenTelemetry is preferred.
  • Experience leading technical validations such as Proof of Value engagements is preferred.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Elastic, or New Relic is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, business judgment, technical acumen, self-motivation, and curiosity.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment; startup experience is preferred.
