Description

  • Design, cost, and propose Lightspeed communications solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Work with Global Sales and customer engineering teams to validate technical requirements and solution details.
  • Prepare and present proposals, review requirements, and lead customer meetings.
  • Identify product and solution opportunities that can generate new customer revenue.
  • Plan customer network upgrades, review performance, and resolve service issues.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to identify available network capacity.
  • Support customer projects from solution design through implementation.
  • Perform technology recommendations, modeling, simulations, testing, and technical demonstrations.
  • Maintain databases and engineering information management systems.
  • Represent Telesat at trade shows, customer events, and technical presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Technology, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering or connectivity solutions.
  • Experience with satellite communications, RF link analysis, and RF hardware preferred.
  • Experience supporting Carrier, Mobile Network Operator, or Wholesale accounts preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MEF 3.0 standards and implementations.
  • Knowledge of OSI Layers 1–3, including optical, HFC, WDM, switching, STP, VLAN, MPLS, Carrier Ethernet, and IP.
  • Knowledge of protocol acceleration, web caching, traffic management, firewalls, VPNs, and network security hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of 3G/4G/5G networking and network management platforms such as SolarWinds or WhatsUp Gold.
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Juniper JNCIA/ENT certifications preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, multitasking, and relationship-building skills; fluent English required and French highly desirable.
  • Ability and willingness to travel across the region for customer meetings and events.
