Description

  • Partner with Account Executives and Account Managers to understand customer challenges and communicate Sumo Logic’s value proposition.
  • Technically close complex opportunities through competitive knowledge, technical expertise, and credibility.
  • Orchestrate sales-cycle activities and lead technical validations during Proof of Value engagements.
  • Work effectively with executives, developers, Site Reliability Engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Deliver product and technical demonstrations of the Sumo Logic service.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to improve the service based on customer feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in solutions engineering, solutions architecture, sales engineering, implementation consulting, support engineering, SRE, or software development with customer-facing project leadership.
  • Hands-on knowledge of security technologies including IDS/IPS, SIEM, log management, network and endpoint security, threat detection, incident response, MSSP/MDR, threat feeds, and CASB.
  • Experience with SaaS solutions and multi-tenant architectures.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure; cloud certification is preferred.
  • Broad understanding of technical infrastructure, including servers, networking devices, and storage.
  • Understanding of modern application architectures, including microservices and containers; Kubernetes, Docker, or Lambda experience is preferred.
  • Experience with open-source data collection tools such as Telegraf, Fluent Bit, Fluentd, or OpenTelemetry is preferred.
  • Experience leading Proof of Value or other technical validation engagements is preferred.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Elastic, or New Relic is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, business acumen, and technical acumen.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment; successful startup experience is preferred.
