Description

  • Research, design, develop, and implement autonomy-related capabilities and algorithms.
  • Design and modify machine learning and other algorithms to study autonomy challenges and draw conclusions.
  • Create, expand, upgrade, and maintain algorithms in software.
  • Design, develop, validate, and manage large-scale simulations and simulation tools.
  • Work on multi-disciplinary teams across STR campuses to plan and execute technical efforts.
  • Prepare technical reports and deliver presentations for government customers.
  • Contribute to proposal efforts and support customer briefings.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex national security problems.
  • Apply AI/ML and decision-making methods to autonomy problems, especially in simulation.

Requirements

  • US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret-level security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • BS with 5+ years of experience, MS with 3+ years of experience, or a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more scientific languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB, preferably in Linux.
  • Experience or interest in at least two of these areas: machine learning, algorithm development, modeling and simulation, optimization, controls, signal processing, tracking, electronic warfare, or resource allocation.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out research projects and make rapid progress with limited supervision.
  • Experience with mission simulators such as AFSIM or NGTS, or physics-based simulators such as XPatch or Crisp, is preferred.
  • Experience with machine learning tasks such as image recognition, deep reinforcement learning, semantic segmentation, or graph neural networks is preferred.
  • Experience with tools such as PyTorch, Tensorboard, and Ray is preferred.
  • Experience writing proposals and/or briefing both technical and non-technical audiences is preferred.
  • An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
