Description

  • Develop rapid-prototype RF solutions using a mix of COTS and custom designs.
  • Design PCB-based systems and implement FPGA and embedded software for HWIL and surrogate builds.
  • Integrate processor and microcontroller debuggers, probing, and data extraction solutions to characterize program execution.
  • Use lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and VNAs to characterize and debug electronic systems.
  • Prepare and execute customer-facing and internal test events.
  • Lead development of lab-based acquisition and control platforms for hardware test and characterization.
  • Represent the hardware team on interdisciplinary efforts involving system architecture and processor implementations.
  • Participate in proposal efforts by contributing technical direction, BOM/cost estimates, and schedule estimates.
  • Produce design documentation and participate in design reviews to support quality and reuse.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5 years of related experience, or an MS with 3 years of related experience.
  • Proven expertise in electrical circuit design principles in at least one of the following areas: RF, analog, or digital.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to mentor junior engineering staff.
  • Experience preparing and presenting technical material to customers and internal staff.
  • Experience leading hardware efforts from concept to implementation while managing cost and scheduling requirements.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance preferred.
  • Strong RF design or implementation background with experience in system analysis and component characterization preferred.
  • Experience in RF design and signal processing for satellite or space communications preferred.
  • Experience in RF design and signal processing for airborne or space remote sensing preferred.
  • Experience architecting RF hardware solutions and leading RF hardware teams in laboratory and test event environments preferred.
  • Experience integrating software defined radios and RFSOC platforms preferred.
  • Experience with analog and RF circuit simulation and modeling tools such as Spice, MATLAB/Simulink, or Microwave Office preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of processor architectures and peripherals, with experience integrating in-circuit debuggers and emulators preferred.
  • Experience using and developing tools and test software for Linux such as Red Hat or Ubuntu preferred.
  • Knowledge of PCB design and fabrication principles and familiarity with CAD tools such as Cadence, Altium, or Eagle preferred.
  • Digital/FPGA HDL experience using tools such as Vivado, Quartus, or Simulink/HDL Coder preferred.
