Description

  • Develop state-of-the-art algorithms and techniques for signal detection, classification, electronic support measures, attack, protection, and cognitive electronic warfare.
  • Lead projects and multi-disciplinary teams across multiple STR campuses.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand mission needs and shape technical solutions to meet their objectives.
  • Construct proposal and program plans to address current and future customer requirements.
  • Design and apply signal processing and machine learning methods to complex radar and RF sensing and counter-sensing challenges.
  • Support business development initiatives and lead technical writing efforts.
  • Advise fellow researchers, scientists, and engineers on multi-disciplinary efforts.
  • Provide technical briefs to subcontractors, senior executives, and customers.
  • Develop sensor system modes and advanced signal- and data-processing algorithms from derivation through testing and verification.
  • Work with mission partners to translate cutting-edge research into practical solutions with immediate impact.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, or equivalent experience based on degree (PhD +5 years or MS +8 years).
  • Experience on EW or radar programs, including development of sensor system modes and advanced signal- and data-processing algorithms through testing and verification.
  • Expertise in two or more areas such as RF/radar signal processing, optimization, waveform design, electronic warfare, machine learning, adaptive signal processing, AI/ML algorithm development, model and simulation, systems engineering, test engineering, radar modeling, or RF systems prototyping.
  • Proficiency in one or more scientific or mathematical programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
  • Excellent communication and briefing skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong mathematical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership of complex research, development, and engineering efforts is preferred.
  • Experience with defense-sector radar and RF technologies, including electronic attack, electronic protection, cognitive EW, and advanced ESM techniques is preferred.
  • Experience with machine learning tools and methods such as PyTorch, Ray, TensorFlow/board, MLflow, Bayesian methods, deep convolutional networks, graph neural networks, NLP, image recognition, semantic segmentation, or reinforcement learning is preferred.
  • Experience translating mission needs into an end-to-end solution with decision-makers and customers is preferred.
  • Ability to apply novel, innovative, and interdisciplinary approaches to challenging engineering problems is preferred.
