Description

  • Develop state-of-the-art algorithms and techniques for signal detection, classification, electronic support measures, attack, protection, and cognitive electronic warfare.
  • Lead projects and multi-disciplinary teams across multiple STR campuses.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand mission needs and shape solutions to meet their objectives.
  • Construct proposal and program plans that address current and future customer requirements.
  • Design and apply signal processing and machine learning methods to radar and RF sensing and counter-sensing problems.
  • Support business development initiatives and lead proposal writing efforts.
  • Advise fellow researchers, scientists, and engineers on technical approaches and project execution.
  • Present technical briefs to subcontractors, senior executives, and customers.
  • Develop sensor system modes and advanced signal- and data-processing algorithms through testing and verification of system performance.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience based on degree (PhD +5 years or MS +8 years).
  • Experience on electronic warfare or radar programs.
  • Experience developing sensor system modes and advanced signal- and data-processing algorithms from mathematical/analytical derivation through testing and verification.
  • Expertise in two or more of the following areas: RF/radar signal processing, optimization, waveform design, electronic warfare, machine learning, adaptive signal processing, AI/ML algorithm development, model and simulation, systems engineering, test engineering, radar modeling, or RF systems prototyping.
  • Proficiency in one or more scientific or mathematical programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
  • Strong mathematical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience providing technical briefs to subcontractors, senior executives, and customers.
  • Experience in defense-sector radar and RF technologies, particularly RF sensing, electronic attack, electronic protection, cognitive EW, radar signal processing, optimization, and advanced ESM techniques, is preferred.
  • Experience with machine learning methods and tools such as NLP, image recognition, semantic segmentation, reinforcement learning, Bayesian methods, deep convolutional networks, graph neural networks, PyTorch, Ray, TensorFlow/board, and MLflow is preferred.
  • Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership of complex research, development, and engineering efforts is preferred.
  • Ability to apply novel, innovative, and interdisciplinary approaches to challenging engineering problems is preferred.

  • Full-time salary range of $206,000 to $284,000.
