Description

  • Develop state-of-the-art algorithms and techniques for sense making and sensor decision making across radar and electronic warfare applications.
  • Lead projects, proposal efforts, and multi-disciplinary teams across multiple STR campuses.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand mission needs and shape solutions to meet their objectives.
  • Design and apply signal processing and machine learning methods to solve complex radar and RF sensing and counter-sensing challenges.
  • Support business development initiatives and contribute to writing proposals and program plans.
  • Advise fellow researchers, scientists, and engineers on technical approaches and project direction.
  • Work with mission partners to translate requirements into practical, high-impact solutions.
  • Present technical information and briefings to subcontractors, executives, and customers.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, or equivalent experience based on degree level (PhD +5 years or MS +8 years).
  • Experience on EW or radar programs, including development of sensor system modes and advanced signal- and data-processing algorithms from derivation through testing and verification.
  • Expertise in two or more areas such as RF/radar signal processing, optimization, waveform design, electronic warfare, machine learning, adaptive signal processing, AI/ML algorithm development, model and simulation, systems engineering, test engineering, radar modeling, or RF systems prototyping.
  • Proficiency in one or more scientific or mathematical programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
  • Experience providing technical briefs to subcontractors, senior executives, and customers.
  • Strong mathematical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred: Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated leadership of complex research, development, and engineering efforts.
  • Preferred: Experience with defense-sector radar and RF technologies, including electronic attack, electronic protection, cognitive EW, and advanced ESM techniques.
  • Preferred: Experience with machine learning methods such as natural language processing, image recognition, semantic segmentation, reinforcement learning, Bayesian methods, deep convolutional networks, graph neural networks, and tools such as PyTorch, Ray, TensorFlow/board, and MLflow.
  • Preferred: Experience translating mission needs into an end-to-end solution with decision-makers and customers.
  • Preferred: Ability to apply novel, innovative, and interdisciplinary approaches to challenging engineering problems.
