Description

  • Design, scale, build, evaluate, integrate, ship, and refine machine learning models for homepage personalization.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across Personalization to integrate mid-term signals into recommendation systems and A/B test changes.
  • Work with research scientists, data scientists, and engineers to prototype and productize state-of-the-art machine learning solutions.
  • Improve recommendation systems to better understand and optimize long-term user satisfaction.
  • Promote best practices for machine learning system development, testing, and evaluation across the team and organization.
  • Contribute to disciplined experimentation and reliability in production machine learning work.

Requirements

  • Strong background in machine learning with experience applying theory to real-world applications.
  • Expertise in statistics and optimization, especially sequential models, transformer architectures, and fine-tuning for sequential models.
  • Hands-on experience with large cross-collaborative machine learning projects and stakeholder management.
  • Hands-on experience implementing production machine learning systems at scale in Java, Scala, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or similar frameworks is a strong plus.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed data processing tools such as Apache Beam, Apache Spark, or Scio is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS is preferred.
  • Interest in agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and disciplined experimentation.
