Description

  • Own major Android features from development through high-quality delivery in collaboration with Design.
  • Help shape the direction and practices of the Android engineering team.
  • Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key app features.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams on product decisions and implementation.
  • Review pull requests and support other engineers.
  • Handle critical issues and unexpected technical challenges.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience with Android components and contributions to at least one Android application.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, background services, music player services, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit.
  • Experience with technologies including Room, Custom Views, Canvas, Paint, and Jetpack Compose.
  • Understanding of software testing principles and test-writing approaches.
  • Product design intuition, user empathy, and a user-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and a self-directed approach to improving products and codebases.
  • Experience pushing the boundaries of Android UI/UX (preferred).
  • Open-source Android experience or experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS (preferred).
