Description

  • Lead technical direction for legacy-system modernization from assessment through implementation.
  • Analyze applications, architectures, dependencies, databases, and business logic in legacy environments.
  • Define transition architectures and progressive modernization strategies.
  • Guide modernization of databases, stored procedures, and database-dependent application logic.
  • Use AI tools for code analysis, reverse engineering, documentation, specification-driven development, and test generation.
  • Translate mission scope into actionable technical plans and adapt them as requirements evolve.
  • Own end-to-end technical delivery while guiding engineering teams.
  • Support architecture decisions, technical analysis, troubleshooting, and implementation.
  • Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and architectural decisions to clients and technical stakeholders.
  • Serve as the technical interface between client stakeholders and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Experience leading or architecting system modernization projects.
  • Strong experience planning transition architectures for complex legacy environments.
  • Hands-on experience refactoring legacy systems, including database stored procedures.
  • Knowledge of legacy Microsoft IE5 HTCs and DHTML architectures.
  • Experience using AI tools to generate technical documentation from codebases.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven workflows including reverse engineering, Spec-Driven Development, and automated test generation.
  • Ability to own and independently evolve technical missions and scope end to end.
  • Strong architecture, technical leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively amid ambiguity and changing requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Cursor is preferred.
  • Experience with profiling, architecture analysis, or application intelligence tools such as CAST Imaging is preferred.
  • Fluent business English and experience with client-facing technical communication are preferred.
  • Experience presenting project status reports and coordinating engineers while retaining technical ownership is preferred.
