Description

  • Own major app features from design collaboration through delivery of high-quality releases.
  • Shape the direction of the Android team and contribute to technical leadership.
  • Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key product features.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams on feature decisions and execution.
  • Review pull requests and support fellow teammates with technical guidance.
  • Handle critical issues and unexpected technical challenges as they arise.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience with Android components.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
  • Understanding of the importance of tests and how to write them effectively.
  • Self-drive to improve the app and codebase beyond the written spec.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects, preferred.
  • Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS, preferred.
