Description

  • Drive operational excellence for internal software development tools and services, including defining golden paths that improve engineering efficiency and velocity.
  • Design software development systems that reinforce best practices and industry standards.
  • Advise engineering partners on the technical implications of system design, including complexity, testability, and maintainability.
  • Lead development and project management for major MongoDB initiatives focused on developer productivity and software quality.
  • Use data-driven insights and optimizations to improve developer productivity and software delivery.
  • Provide technical mentorship and leadership to the Developer Productivity organization, promoting best practices and team growth.
  • Help shape the future technical direction of MongoDB’s developer ecosystem and long-term DevProd roadmap.
  • Review code and design for key systems within the software development ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in developer productivity within large engineering environments, including building and operationalizing complex, reliable systems.
  • Strong experience supporting one or more of C++, Java, Go, Python, Rust, Node, or Typescript.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps culture and tooling.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, common deployment models, infrastructure, and safe production rollout techniques.
  • Hands-on experience implementing metrics and observability tools and best practices.
  • Experience with data processing pipeline technologies such as Iceberg, Trino, and Kafka.
  • Proven track record of driving technical execution and vision for organizations with 50+ team members.
  • Experience advocating for and representing the needs of a 1000+ customer base to internal platform teams.
  • Bonus points for strong systems fundamentals, including testing and monitoring multi-threaded systems.
  • Bonus points for performance profiling of complex systems.
  • Bonus points for leveraging AI tools and technologies in developer productivity, along with telemetry and analytics to measure effectiveness.
  • Bonus points for experience supporting database internals or core components for data processing systems.

  • Base salary range in Canada: $175,000 to $243,000 CAD.
