Description

  • Own major in-app features from design collaboration through delivery of high-quality releases.
  • Shape the direction of the Android team and contribute to technical leadership.
  • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key product features.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams on feature decisions and execution.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through code collaboration.
  • Handle critical issues and unexpected technical challenges.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.
  • Contribute to product improvements that enhance the Android user experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Product design intuition and strong user empathy.
  • Drive to improve Android UI/UX and push beyond existing boundaries.
  • Understanding of test strategy and experience writing tests.
  • Self-directed mindset with willingness to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to Android open source projects (bonus).
  • Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS (bonus).
