Description

  • Own major Android app features from design through delivery with close collaboration across teams.
  • Shape the direction of the Android team and contribute to technical and product decisions.
  • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key app features.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering partners on cross-functional work.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through code review and collaboration.
  • Handle critical issues and resolve unexpected technical challenges.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.
  • Work to improve the app, codebase, and user experience beyond the written spec.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Product design intuition and strong user empathy.
  • Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
  • Understanding of test strategy and writing tests.
  • Rock-solid experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Bonus: experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects.
  • Bonus: experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
