Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust public and internal APIs for TTS, payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking.
  • Oversee and optimize the backend API landscape for performance and maintainability.
  • Build and maintain backend services that support business and scalability requirements.
  • Collaborate on B2B solutions, including customization and integration needs for enterprise clients.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
  • Contribute to new products and core platform capabilities across Speechify’s text-to-speech ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in backend development with TypeScript/Node.js is required.
  • Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is required.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers is required.
  • Ability to work efficiently from ideation through implementation while prioritizing by urgency and impact.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized deployments is preferred.
  • Experience deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flat organization are important.
  • Availability to complete a multi-step technical interview process within about 1 week.
