Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust public and internal APIs for payments, subscriptions, authentication, consumption tracking, and text-to-speech.
  • Oversee and optimize the backend API landscape for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Build and support backend services that meet business requirements and scale with product growth.
  • Collaborate on B2B solutions to address enterprise customization and integration needs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
  • Contribute to product decisions in a fast-paced, strategic environment.
  • Help maintain and improve core platform services across Speechify’s product ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js (required).
  • Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized deployments (preferred).
  • Experience deploying highly available applications on Kubernetes (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and a solid work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully distributed, asynchronous environment.
