Description

  • Build automated pipelines to process LiDAR point clouds and sensor logs.
  • Develop algorithms to classify terrain and identify obstacles in complex 3D environments.
  • Manage the geospatial backend in PostGIS and cloud systems as the source of truth for operational maps and geofences.
  • Build high-performance map services, including vector tiles and APIs, for web-based mission control dashboards.
  • Render complex 3D environments and fleet positions in visualization tools.
  • Write logic to solve geometric and spatial problems for navigation and obstacle detection.

Requirements

  • B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
  • 6+ years of industry experience as a geospatial engineer.
  • Experience processing and analyzing raw LiDAR data using PDAL, PCL, or Python tools such as Open3D and NumPy.
  • Strong understanding of graph theory and pathfinding algorithms such as A* and Dijkstra for unstructured environments.
  • Expert-level SQL skills with PostGIS for managing complex geometries and spatial relationships.
  • Comfort writing algorithms and logic to solve geometric problems involving 3D trajectories and static obstacles.
  • Experience with Kotlin or Java is preferred.
  • Knowledge of coordinate reference systems (CRS) and transformations is preferred.
