Description

  • Collaborate with product teams to scope projects and identify ways to reduce scope for faster customer feedback.
  • Navigate integration and UX tradeoffs across different product teams and deliver solutions through the cross-platform SDK.
  • Design more efficient abstractions to improve existing functionality and ship faster loading and more intelligent parsing.
  • Improve algorithms to optimize product performance and reliability.
  • Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
  • Work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to design clear, reliable APIs and simple systems.
  • Contribute to foundational services and SDKs that support Speechify’s product experience across platforms.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Senior Software Engineer or in a similar senior engineering role.
  • Strong systems thinking with an end-to-end approach to system design.
  • Ability to work quickly, generate options, and decide what can ship now versus what needs more time.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote, high-growth startup environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with designers, marketers, and product managers.
  • Preferred experience with Kotlin Multiplatform; Java experience is acceptable, but the role is centered on Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
  • Ability to provide links to a portfolio and LinkedIn when applying.
