Description

  • Collaborate with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration and UX tradeoffs.
  • Deliver solutions through the cross-platform SDK that power Speechify’s product experience.
  • Optimize existing functionality to improve performance, including faster loading and more intelligent parsing.
  • Design more efficient abstractions and improve algorithms to enhance core product behavior.
  • Build and ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
  • Work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to design clear, reliable APIs and simple systems.
  • Contribute to foundational services and SDKs that support Speechify across platforms.

Requirements

  • Senior Software Engineer experience for a product and infrastructure-focused role.
  • Strong systems thinking with an emphasis on end-to-end design and simplicity.
  • Ability to work quickly, generate options, and decide what can ship now versus what needs more time.
  • Comfort working in a busy, remote, high-growth startup environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with designers, marketers, and product managers.
  • Preferred experience with Kotlin Multiplatform; Java experience is acceptable but the role is centered on Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Prior experience with GCP is a plus.
  • Ability to provide links to a portfolio and LinkedIn when applying.
