Description

  • Collaborate with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration and UX tradeoffs.
  • Deliver solutions through Speechify’s cross-platform SDK.
  • Optimize existing functionality to improve loading speed and parsing quality.
  • Design more efficient abstractions and improve algorithms to enhance product performance.
  • Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
  • Work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to create clear, reliable APIs and simple systems.
  • Contribute to the foundational services and SDKs that support the product experience across platforms.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Senior Software Engineer or in a similar senior-level software engineering role.
  • Strong systems thinking with an ability to design end-to-end solutions and value simplicity.
  • Ability to work quickly, generate options, and decide what can ship now versus later.
  • Ability to stay focused and work effectively in a busy, remote, high-growth startup environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with designers, marketers, and product managers.
  • Preferred experience with Kotlin Multiplatform; Java experience is acceptable, but the role is centered on Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
  • Ability to include portfolio and LinkedIn links when applying.
