Description

  • Collaborate with product teams to scope projects and deliver solutions through the cross-platform SDK.
  • Reduce project scope when appropriate to accelerate customer feedback.
  • Navigate integration and UX tradeoffs across different product teams.
  • Design and improve abstractions and algorithms to optimize existing functionality.
  • Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
  • Help maintain the foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across platforms.
  • Work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to create clear, reliable APIs and simple systems.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Senior Software Engineer or in a similar software engineering role.
  • Systems thinking with an end-to-end approach to system optimization and a preference for simplicity.
  • Ability to work quickly, evaluate tradeoffs, and decide what can ship now versus later.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote startup environment with strong focus and independence.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with designers, marketers, and product managers.
  • Preferred experience with Kotlin Multiplatform; Java experience is acceptable, but the role is focused on Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
  • Ability to provide links to a portfolio and LinkedIn when applying.
