Description

  • Collaborate with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration and UX tradeoffs.
  • Deliver solutions through the cross-platform SDK across Speechify’s product experience.
  • Optimize existing functionality for faster loading and more intelligent parsing by improving abstractions and algorithms.
  • Design and build efficient systems that improve the reliability and simplicity of core product services.
  • Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
  • Work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to support core platform experiences.
  • Partner with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers to align on execution and delivery.

Requirements

  • Experience as a senior software engineer building foundational product or platform services.
  • Strong systems thinking with an emphasis on end-to-end design and simplicity.
  • Ability to work quickly, generate options, and decide what can ship now versus what needs more time.
  • Comfort working in a high-growth, remote startup environment that requires focus and autonomy.
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with designers, marketers, and product managers.
  • Preferred experience with Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Java experience is acceptable, though the role is centered on Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
