Description

  • Invent tools and processes that enable fast and correct software development.
  • Perform hands-on integration and troubleshooting across the Starship software stack.
  • Collaborate with counterpart teams to design, maintain, and improve dedicated on-premises compute resources.
  • Identify major pain points for the team and create solutions from start to finish.
  • Own systems that help hundreds of engineers integrate changes continuously and reliably.
  • Support software outcomes in a high-autonomy, dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM discipline, or 7+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with Bazel or similar build systems.
  • Fluency in Python, C++, Rust, or Go.
  • Experience building tools and infrastructure that impact hundreds of engineers daily.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools and interest in applying AI to improve code quality, testing, and development workflows.
  • Strong critical thinking and first-principles problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment while taking high levels of responsibility and accountability.
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed.
  • U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, refugee, asylee status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. export authorizations under ITAR.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $160,000 to $225,000 per year.
