Description

  • Manage and expand network interconnections, network co-location sites, and points of presence (POPs).
  • Improve network performance and reliability using system performance metrics, capacity planning, failure detection, and remediation.
  • Assist with capacity augmentation and network optimization deployments.
  • Assist with updating system configurations and firmware.
  • Automate network devices, operational workflows, and deployment tools.
  • Help architect how SpaceX systems integrate with ground networks.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience in network administration.
  • Experience working in a multi-vendor production environment.
  • Experience with Python and/or bash scripting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline preferred.
  • Background in service provider networks, including Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, DNS, DHCP, and NTP preferred.
  • Familiarity with Layer-1 troubleshooting, including datacenter, transport, DWDM, optics, circuit troubleshooting, and activations preferred.
  • Background in network automation and Python preferred.
  • Hands-on experience bringing up network infrastructure preferred.
  • Experience creating documentation and procedures preferred.
  • Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar industry certifications preferred.
  • Active Top Secret or TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
  • Minimum IAT Level II certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M required.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and globally as needed.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must be eligible under ITAR requirements as a U.S. citizen/national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required authorizations.

  • Pay range of $110,000 to $140,000 per year.
  • 10% clearance differential, up to an additional $20,000 annually, for employees with an active clearance once briefed into a classified program.
