Description

  • Design, develop, and manage automation projects.
  • Manage equipment specifications, cost, lead time, installation, and commissioning for new equipment.
  • Own safety strategy and planning and implement ANSI/RIA 15.06/OSHA-compliant systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical designers and manufacturing engineers to define system requirements and architecture.
  • Create and maintain equipment documentation and drawings for handoff to operations teams.
  • Debug, root-cause, and continuously improve equipment in a high-rate production environment.
  • Architect, write, and debug PLC code for high-volume manufacturing applications.
  • Develop simple and effective HMI screens to support machine operation and troubleshooting.
  • Design electrical systems that comply with NEC, NFPA, and UL508A regulations.
  • Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic systems, and fluid plumbing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in the design and commissioning of controls systems for industrial applications.
  • Experience with process integration and electromechanical/mechatronic systems (preferred).
  • Robot programming experience, preferably with ABB (preferred).
  • Experience with C#, .NET, Python, and/or SQL (preferred).
  • PLC programming experience, preferably with Beckhoff TwinCAT or Siemens TIA Portal (preferred).
  • HMI and SCADA programming experience, preferably Ignition or Beckhoff TwinCAT HMI (preferred).
  • Experience with field bus networks, serial communication, and Ethernet communication.
  • Knowledge of NEC and UL508A codes.
  • Experience with 3D CAD, preferably Siemens NX (preferred).
  • Exposure to a wide variety of industrial machinery and fast-paced iterative design and test environments.
  • Experience automating metrics into dashboards and alerting systems, and developing tools used for data analysis (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience building and commissioning high-quality electrical control panels and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be willing to work long hours and weekends as needed for manufacturing and test campaigns.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorization.
